"I have worked with Jill Evenden at EBS Accountants for almost 4 years, throughout this time I have found their service impeccable.  Around 2 years ago I was faced with a problem regarding VAT. I had always paid my VAT on time and also kept HMRC updated and paid on time with regards to arranged payment plans.  In 2009 I was faced with several surcharges and immediately disputed them.  I knew that I had paid within the timescales set.   HMRC unfortunately would not even let me appeal properly.

At this stage I passed the dispute through to Jill, who continued to write to HMRC explaining the circumstances on many occasions and in May of this year made the decision to take the case to Tribunal.  A date was confirmed for August and Jill and I prepared the case.  We sent all correspondence with evidence to them ready for the Tribunal.  At this stage I was feeling extremely anxious and at times just wanted to pay to put the whole experience behind me.  Jill kept me focused and positive about the situation and was happy to attend the Tribunal, which I very much appreciated.  On the 22nd June I received a letter from the Revenue saying " I have reviewed your appeal prior to the hearing and based on the additional information available have decided to withdraw the default surcharges"  This was incredible news and I would never have been able to go through this difficult time without the help from Jill and the team at EBS.  I am so grateful for their help and support and would highly recommend them.
